Problem with SGI GDM-5411 Monitor

I'm sorry if this may be off-topic, but I don't where else to post
this. This is the monitor, I'm having the problems with.

21" SONY GDM-5411, Professional Black FLAT Screen Trinitron Monitor oem
SGI

Try to make the story short. For some time I've using two of these as
displays on my Power Mac G5. I recently bought another used one, to
replace one of them (I'll explain why in a min.). Anyway I hooked it
up. It works, flawlessly. Just like new. Only one problem. there is
kind of a nasty scratch on the screen. Can't be helped, so I decided to
swap the monitors around, so I wouldn't be looking at the scratch so
much.

Shut down and disconnected everything. swapped monitors, and
reconnected everything. The monitor I just bought powered up fine.
However the previous monitor, stayed black, and power light, just keeps
blinking green. Which is the exact same thing that happen a couple of
months ago, to the other monitor, when I had to disconnect everything,
while doing an upgrade on my computer, and the reason I was now
replacing it.

So now I have two very nice monitors with black screens, and blinking
power lights. They don't seem to be dead. It's more like they are in a
sleep mode or something. My computer seems to recognize that they are
connected, but they just don't come on.

My question. If anyone here is familiar with this type of monitor, what
exactly does the blinking power light mean? (Google has been no help.)
Are the monitors dead, or somethings else? Is there a way to reset
them?

If you can help, I'd appreciate, if you could post an answer here. I'll
check back. Thanks in advance. I'd really like to get these monitors,
up and running. If not I guess, I'll just give up, and buy some new
LCDs.

On the GDM-5411 and some earlier Sony models this is an indication that
the monitor electronics discovered a defective circuit and refuse to
fully power on.

I happen to have the service manual here, if your email address is
valid, accepts 4.5MiB PDFs and you care to try some repair (which if
done professionally is probably more expensive than a "new" used
monitor), I'll happily send it to you.

Ah, I see I stored the URL:

http://service-asc.sel.sony.com/SonyESI/pdf/99786630.1/manual.pdf

So you can download it yourself if it's still valid.
