Hello all,

I have an Octane running version 6.5.17. I just installed one of the
SGI single port PCI copper gigabit card.in the shoebox All the lights
on the card are lit, indicating that the driver is not loaded. HINV
indicates that card is not there.

I understand I need a patch # 5062 to install the tigon driver. This
patch is not part of the SGI freeware. does anybody have the patch or
driver needed for the card.

I can not update past 6.5.17 because the Kodak Cineon Storm software
is not compiled past that point.

any help for the octane

So 'egconfig eg0' doesnt load any driver ? My o2k running 6.5.12 had the
tigon2 (3com?) firmware with a std. install, don't know about tigon3
(broadcom).

That should not matter. The Kodak sw should still run just fine. Best
thing to do: clone
the disk onto a separate drive (I have a 2GB you can have for free, or
others available),
update that drive to whatever (6.5.22, 6.5.26, 6.5.30 are releases I'm
very familiar with),
see what happens. Cloning instructions are on my site
(www.sgidepot.co.uk/disksfiles.html#CLONE).

Cheers! :)

Ian.

PS. I can supply these updates on CDR if required for 15 + shipping (5
CDs).
